Maurice Curtis Lee (Maury) born November 19, 1947 in Cedar City, Utah passed away January 13, 2020 at the VA Hospital in Reno, Nevada, at the age of 72. He attended Crater High School in Central Point, OR. He enlisted in the Army April 22, 1966, served as a Combat Medic with the Americal Division 11th Infantry Brigade in Vietnam. A decorated Veteran he was presented the Silver Star by General Westmoreland for his brave actions and Purple Heart for injuries sustained from a booby trap. He returned state-side November 30, 1968 living in Oregon until moving to Nevada in 1977. He worked for the Nye County Sheriff’s Office as a Deputy. On, July 30, 1979 he married Dorothy J. Clifford (Dottie Jo) in Goldfield, NV. Changed careers to the Mining industry in Nevada and Arizona. After 25 years in mining retired to reside in Round Mountain, NV.

He is preceded in death by father, Gifford Emmett Lee and younger half brother, Charles Gifford Lee. He is survived by mother, Marilyn Renneau Lee of Ashland, OR; older brother, Terrance Ray Lee of Phoenix, OR;  half sisters, Denise Harden of MN, Lisa Hanscel and Renee Keener of OH and Gretchen Miceli of AZ.; wife, Dorothy (Dottie) Lee and stepson, John Szczech of NV.; children,, Bryan and Veronica Lee of Arizona, Travis and Jackie Lee ; daughter, Lori Sipple of OR. Six grandchildren, Brittney, Kenzie and Connor of OR;  Missy, Marylyn and Anthony of AZ.

Donations may be made to the family for the Veterans Guest House in Reno in Maury's memory.

A Celebration of Maury's life will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the Elk's Lodge in Tonopah, Nevada
