Alfred Leon Milner, age 87, of Portales, NM, passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2025. Graveside services will be held on Monday, September 29th, 2025, at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley, Nevada.
Alfred was born on December 19, 1937, to Elaine and Albert Johnson, in Winnemucca, NV. He enjoyed building model trains/cars, shooting, and collecting Coca Cola memorabilia. He loved spending time outdoors and took pride in caring for the Curry County Fairgrounds in Clovis, New Mexico. He was active in Cub/Boy Scouts, the LDS church, and loved spending time with his great grandchildren.
Alfred proudly served 26 years in the United States Air Force, retiring as a Master Sergeant Intelligence Operations Technician.
Alfred was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Louis Johnson, Evert Johnson, Edna Johnson, and Wanda Milner. He is also preceded in death by his daughter, Candy.
Survivors include brother Billy Milner, children Albert, Penny, Christopher, Rebecca (Dave), and Cathleen (Mike), along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was also survived by wife, Viola Milner, stepsons Johnny, Jesse, and James, as well as many step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.
Alfred was loved by so many in his life and will be dearly missed.
