(Tony) Elliot Robinette Bashelier, born April 26, 1944, in Bethel, Alaska, passed away on December 11, 2025.
Tony spent most of his life in Alaska. He dedicated his career to the Alaska Railroad, where he served as Superintendent of Locomotives, he was known for his strong work ethic, fair and impartial demeanor and deep sense of responsibility. Outside of work, Tony loved the Alaskan way of life, including mushing dogs, fishing, enjoying the outdoors and school with his daughters. In his 50s, Tony retired and settled in Fallon, Nevada, where he continued to live a prosperous life with his wife. Tony was a kind, stable, and calm presence to those around him. He was known for his service to others, his love, his compassion, his teaching and being true to his word. He could always be relied upon. He brought comfort and a sense of security to his family. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Yvonne Bashelier.Elliot is survived by his daughters, Yvonne Robinette Bashelier and Natalie Kay Vlahovich; his sons-in-law, Baha Hussain Kamal and Mark Vlahovich; his niece, Micheal Banks; his grandchildren, Danielle Jobarteh, Niklas Elliot Vlahovich, and Ziad Ahmed Ali Osman; his grandson-in-law, Muhammed Jobarteh; and his great-grandchildren, Sydney Jobarteh and Elliot Jobarteh. His grandson Niklas Elliot Vlahovich and great-grandson Elliot Jobarteh were lovingly named in his honor. Elliot will be remembered for his gentle strength, his dedication to his work and family, and the steady presence he brought into the lives of those who knew and loved him
