Fallon

On the morning of June 30, 2025, Ruth Eleanor Plumbridge, 95, died at home in Fallon, NV. Known as Ellie to her friends and Grandma Ellie to six grandchildren and four great grandchildren, she had always lived her life on her terms.

Born in Sterling, CO to Norman Bernard Campbell and Ila Viola Jackson the Great Depression soon saw the family move to Marin City then San Rafael, CA where Ellie graduated from Tamalpais Union High School then she went on to a secretarial school. On July 11, 1950, Ellie married Jack Plumbridge in Reno, NV before settling in Woodacre, CA where three children were born, Alan C. Plumbridge who now lives in Paradise, UT, Kay Inglis from Fallon, NV, and Julie Eva Landolf from Beaverton, OR, who passed in 2019.

The family moved to Tahoe City in the early 1960’s where Ellie worked for Homewood Investments and John Deeter Construction. While living in the Sierra’s she enjoyed snow skiing and horseback riding. Jack and Ellie moved to Nevada in 1974 where she continued her love of horses and often traveled the world looking for the next great adventure. Once coming to Fallon, Ellie was employed with Gary Snow Livestock until her retirement. In her later years she enjoyed taking day trips to areas of historical interest, to view wildlife, visit scenic spots, or admire art that caught her attention.

The family is having a private service.

Due to the trials of advanced age on the body and mind, each morning Ellie reminded herself that you only live once, but if you do it right it’s enough. And she did live well.
